In many ways, this is the best installment of the Old Ed series. After reading the previous two, you know plenty about Ed, what his goals are, but also what troubles him. You also know some characters that you didn't think were all that important and now, they suddenly show up front and center. All this to say that Old Ed 3 not only continues the series, but also gives more background information on Ed and his world, while simultaneously adding some unexpected twists and turns to the information you already knew.It's difficult to explain more without spoilers, so I won't go into more detail. Suffice it to say I very much enjoyed this short story and hope we get to read Old Ed 4 soon!

Christensen is such an amazing writer. It's amazing how he combines humor with violence with poignancy all at the same time.
I love this series and I'm so happy there was a hint that there could be an Old Ed 4.
Yet another addition to Loren Christensen's excellent "Old Ed" series, and the third book was filled with the same twists and turns that made the first two such a unique take on the "aging hitman" genre. Christensen continues to turn that trope on it's head and keeps us readers guessing until the very end. The same visceral fight scenes and sense of humor (sometimes both existing in the same paragraph) continues here, as Ed faces down even higher stakes in his seeking a retirement he really doesn't even seem to want.
This one ties together some loose ends that you probably didn't even realize existed and provides a satisfying ending to the character's journey begun two books ago. At the same time, it opens up new doors that I sincerely hope that Christensen decides to take us through!
Each addition to the "Old Ed" series has taken the lead character into more unexpected areas.
Waiting for # 4.
A 76 year old hit man who respects his victims even though the don't deserve it & hates guns. What's not to like? I like Old Ed just as much as Mister Christensen's 'Dukkha' series.
Read all the available OLD ED...the author intrigues me more than the stories themselves...
I am impatiently awaiting the next installment. I have read them all. Ed is the geriatric answer to Jack Reacher . He has reached the top of his game as a world class hitman trying to survive retirement. Not usually done in that profession. It's complicated, being the sex object in a retirement facility and all. Very enjoyable read. Loren, write faster.
